Without knowing other points moves up or down, almost certainly not.
50 points so far for Emma is just 10 points net over 40 points coming off from last year.
She is currently JWR 103 and an additional 10 points still leaves her short of the JWR 102's current points score.
The further 25 points for reaching the final would indeed do it though since there are a load of players currently within that range. Might as well win the tournament though.
Emma has quite a few singles points to defend, but is playing another G2 in a couple of weeks. A decent run there would almost certainly put her in contention for GB no.1 and don't forget, she is still only 15...
Nae bad - the 3 titles this year already, 15 wins in a row, up to about JWR 70 next Monday ( just behind the new GB #1 ranked from this Monday, Ali Collins )
A very good start to this year will hopefully give Emma much more confidence in Grade 1 and A events during the spring and summer, it would be nice to see her play all three slams even if she still has to qualify, perhaps even a two or three weeks in Sharm in the summer half term holiday dipping her toes into futures depending on arrangements around RG.
It may seem like sacrilidge but Emma hasnt lost in competition since Wimbledon that was when age 14 to the present world no 2 (En Shuo Liang age 17) that was in three sets and loosing isnt all bad.
Also looking forward to seeing Holly back playing sometime in the future.
