Lucky Loser Pera 6-4 after 39 minutes. Her lefty serve is proving much more effective than Jo's at present.

Pera breaks on the umpires call which proved correct. Jo has only had one break point so far to Pera's 11.

Hot take in the middle of a match, but based on the last 6 months: Johanna will not finish 2018 as GB #1. Not due to injury, or some other player performing amazingly, just due to loss of form.
I don't say this lightly; you can track my ardent support of Jo back years on this forum, long before her big successes.

Pera takes game with two more aces to make 7 so far, Jo has served no aces.

Jo saved 3 match points but had to play very well to do it, with Pera hitting winners off some of Jo's serves. So far Jo has hit 13 winners to Pera's 21.

Just played far to much down the middle. Pera was outstanding and thoroughly deserved her win.

Disappointing for Jo. She's better than that.

Jo was outplayed today. She couldn't cope with Pera's left handed play, blistering returns of service and gusty conditions.
