Anyway thought I would join the predictions competitions as my first posts so here goes:-

Edmund 34

Broady 129

A Ward 189
Corrie 299
Glasspool 321
J Gray 376

Hope Im wrong and the guys end up higher but best of luck to all our men in 2018!

An excellent, concise article, pretty much spot on I reckon, interesting reading about the ladies which I am not up to date on.  This article will be a big help to those coming to British tennis who do not follow it as closely as those on here, nice one nick!

Can't be bothered to waste any time on predictions, let's see what happens.

Very good article and I can certainly see where you are coming from on all your 8 to watch, and would myself go for 6 of them in an 8 to watch.

Looking at players outside the top 100, indeed overall, the likely top 500 guys I probably most see relatively on the rise are as represented by my prediction rises - Cam to 82, Jay to 132, Alex to 204 and Jonny to 420. So actually 3 of your 4 guys and I can certainly see real possibilities for Tom if can stay fit and well and compete much more often. He didn't make my top 10 but be great to see him significantly rise. Ryan Storrie is another I will be particularly watching and hoping that he makes further big steps forward.

Interesting and a bit surprising to me you are keeping things very controlled re Jay rankingswise : "It'll be fantastic progress if he can maintain his top 250 ranking, and maybe even break into the top 200". I'd suggest significant further progress should be seeing a ranking quite well into the top 200, though a period of consolidation is of course no disaster.

Among the ladies, my clear 3 to watch, represented by my ranking predictions, are Katie B 144, Katie S 188 and Gabi 214. Pushed for a fourth I'd say Jodie, although I haven't got her in my top 10 or see her as top 300 in 2018, but again great if she does move up so significantly. So again I have 3 of your 4. And I can see Maia continuing to progress, even if not sure it will be really significantly. Katie S I thought was really pushing forward again in the second half of 2017 and I have quite big hopes for her in 2018. Eden and Fran are others that I will certainly be watching a bit more than most.

A Murray 3

K Edmund 45

C Norrie 90

B Klein 270

A Ward 280

L Glasspool 300

J Grey 350

After my dismal performance last year finishing last (equal - hasten to add) I think perhaps I need to be more radical this year.

K Edmund 29
A Murray 54
C Norrie 85
D Evans 105
J Clarke 155
L Broady 210
O Golding 243
T Farquharson 255
J Ward 340
R Storrie 389

A Murray to only play a few tournaments this year, hence the low ranking. Sadly A Ward will also be struck down by injury again and his ranking will suffer too. Oli to find his mojo again and come roaring up the rankings. So wanted to squeeze Billy on to my list but I think he will just miss out, despite cracking the Top 500. As for a dark horse, watch out for Evan Hoyt.

Recipe for cracking last place on my own this year ? I guess only time will tell.

Interesting, very interesting. Certainly very much bolder than say Vandenburg whose 10 selections come from the 11 most popular

Having finished last in 2017, I thought I might as well take a gamble.  The only way is up, as they say.  In the end it was quite conservative.  I seriously considered picking some random pesky and putting him in the list on the gamble that he might transfer to GB during the season. wink

Here we go.

Murray- 7
Norrie 30(Bold prediction)
Bedene (will switch back to other country) but will finish 70
Edmund 35
Evans 150
Broady 150
Clarke 150

Corrie 500

A Ward 300
Klien 300
Grey- 220 (Bold prediction)

Vanderburgh you will have to split Evans, Broady and Clarke - they can't all be 150, otherwise I will put them down in the order you wrote so Broady is 151 and Clarke 152

NO bold predictions from me I've missed a few players off that I feel have the potential of being inside the British top 10. 3 of them just depends on their commitment to the tour Tom F, Oli Golding and Marcus Willis. And the few up and coming players like Grey and Storrie. Anyway heres my top ten.

Andy Murray 8
Kyle Edmund 40
Cam Norrie 80
Dan Evans 150
Liam Broady 180
Alex Ward 200
Jay Clarke 220
Brydan Klein 240
Ed Corrie 250
Lloyd Glasspool 330

Again, here goes:

1. Andy 22
2. Kyle 37
3. Dan Evans 115
4. Cam Norrie 130
5. Jay 195
6. Brydan 215
7. Liam 220
8. Alex Ward 280
9. Ed Corrie 295
10. Ryan Storrie 360

Basically, I'm not sure Andy will manage a full season, have confidence that Evo will come back in good form, hope that Alex can keep injury free and have certain concerns about Ryan but am going for it all the same
