Boys: 2017 Wimbledon Juniors, grass - Grade A (Week 28)

now there's some big delay as they need to change or clean the balls they said. Most irregular. Oh wait no, there's a message coming up on screen now saying ball boy illness.

Seems the big delay was to do with the court after the ball boy was taken ill.

Makes it sound like the ballkid was sick over the balls. Poor him, anyway, horrible and embarrassing at the same time.

Aidan completed a 1st set bagel but his opponent has finally won a game at the start of the 2nd set

Puking over the match balls at wimbledon. It's just not cricket.

My first time watching McHugh. His FH is stellar. His BH is leaking points.

NB There are two 'holes' in the doubles draw now (one obviously for Anton/Max). Will there be ALTs who get put in to plug the gaps?

Yes - normal practice is for alternates to sign in at Grand Slams, and in this case Hamish and Dominic benefit from the misfortune of Anton (and Max)

Doubles R1 (L32)

Korda/Mejia (USA/COL) v (WC) Molloy/Smith
(3) Rodionov/Vrbensky (AUT/CZE) v (WC) Draper/Loffhagen
(8) Baez/Grassi Mazzuchi (ARG) v (WC) Bass/McHugh
(6) Ayeni/Bryde (USA) v (Alt) H.Stewart/West

That has to be a first. surely - though the delay just seemed to go on for ever.....

But Aidan was playing great tennis - hope he can close it out.

And go George L, my new little pet fave after Roehampton !

It seems to a recurring problem a puking ball boy upset Evo last year? Must be something dodgy in the strawberries.

Cor, there was even more of it in his 1st round match. Seems that's just what you get at an Aidan McHugh match.

Nice article, Skib.

Here's one about George Loffhagen too, and hitting with Rafa:

Thanks for the article, CD. Interesting to get some background on a promising player, who (as the article says) hasn't been hugely hyped. All the best to those playing today!
