So, mainly because 4 of the matches are virtually 50:50, the expected number through is 2.70 despite only one Brit being the (marginal) favourite for her match.

GB on a shirt, Davis Cup still gleaming, 79 years of hurt, never stopped us dreaming ... 29/11/2015 that dream came true!
Firstly, the LTA didn't give Tara anything, no QWC; she is in qualifying as of right - direct acceptance. Second, run ins with the LTA aren't a valid factor, just one example, Evans had plenty of them in the past, still got the WC. Third, not showing form aren't a valid factor either. Laura Robson got one each of the last two years, when she was playing awfully (once mitigated by just returning).
This is the LTA picking favourites and playing politics with their gifts. If Laura Robson were in the same position, she'd get one. She will get one regardless of anything else from now until she retires, if she wants one. If Tara has consistently been treated like this behind the scenes throughout her career, it's hardly surprising that she would have 'run ins' with those that treated her like that. I'm not pretending she's perfect, or that on occasion that she doesn't express herself undiplomatically, but she's always done her bit, too. Fed Cup whenever required, tireless promotion for all the Rally for Bally events, and so on. Within the framework of caveats that, no one (apart from Laura Robson) is inherently entitled to a MDWC, Tara has every right to be aggrieved, like none I can recall in recent memory.
I agree with everything other than your final sentence. As many others have pointed out the treatment of Sam Murray last year was even more disgusting as she was effectively excluded from Wimbledon because she was too busy beating the WR180 player at Ilkley to play in the QWC play-offs.
Forecast isn't good, with local showers, heavy rain late afternoon. But it looks as if they are stting on time as the scoreboard shows players warming up.
Harriet leads 5-4 tara down 2-4 Katie Swan down 3-5 all first set no coverage on red button on BBC showing judo or something similar a disgrace lucky I have Sky to see Eurosport
BBC are calling it live but Harriet's match has only just started on there. We had to listen to John Lloyd and two people I've never heard of prattling on for a number of minutes before the match started

It is live - if you've only just started watching you might have to forward it to get it live.
