Week 26 - Wimbledon men's qualifying

Marcus can hardly move.

Alex holds in a mammoth game.

Don't see Marcus lasting much longer. His leg has gone. Looks like it might be as a result of that fall he had yesterday against Liam.

Out of it physically. He needs to be in much better shape when you have to play again the next day.

Andrew Castle is absolutely insufferable by the way.

Bouncy. Wish someone would deflate him.

Alex has just taken the 3rd set in a breaker 8-6 to lead 2 sets to 1.

Jay will certainly make top 150 but please don't take any anything away from willy's success we are all different

Gary:  in case you're wondering where your Jay thread has gone, it's been merged into the one bearing his name in the Individual player threads forum.

Yes Alex! 2 sets to 1 up now, so desperate to see him close this one out. And Marcus, win this set and you never know!

Absolutely gutted for Jay and his family bleh but it happens to every young player and I'm sure he'll learn and come back stronger. I feel his recent displays have been the sort of bright light we needed in the wake of the Evo scandal.

Not done any favours by the scheduling really.

Willbomb falls in the third set tie-break. Hopefully he's seen enough from himself to seriously commit now. He'll need to with the dip down the rankings he'll now be facing.

Meanwhile Alex goes a break up in the 4th and is 4 games from sealing a place in the main draw.

Jaffa-Castle always IS insufferable. [Today he put the commentator's curse on Jay by thinking he'd won when he went two sets up then realising he hadn't]Should have been replaced long ago.John Lloyd's a pain to listen to too .

YES! Alex Ward, take a bow. Fantastic achievement and SO very well deserved for a genuinely nice guy who's had such awful luck with injuries and the like. Absolutely delighted for him!
