RE: Week 26 - Wimbledon men's qualifying

Bizarrely considering what had happened just days before at Manchester I was just asked on the day i went there what was in my bag, and no-one even checked (perhaps I look so truthful smile ) - perhaps it depended on which of the stewards was on inspection duty.

Got there!!  But why would the Bank of England upgrade its facilities for the qualifying event when they know that at soon as Wimbledon Park Golf Club's lease expires in a year or so, that the AELTC are taking back some of the land to build their own qualifying venue?

FWIW the WPGC lease does not expire until 2041. This confirmed by my friend David Langheim, WPGC's course manager

I've seen several references to it in the press the last week or so, but it seems Wimbledon have issued a statement saying that the story is a complete fabrication started by the Mail on Sunday and then recycled through other news outlets!!!!!
