Jay will certainly make top 150 but please don't take any anything away from willy's success we are all different
Physically and mentally marcus is very talented and really going for it !
Lets hope they both progress marcus has got mouths to feed now and sure it will give him the extra impetus
He has certainly fed one mouth it's fair to say, and regardless of the result today Doubles WC and challenger prize money from the last 2 weeks he ll have earned roughly £25k by my calculations. Not too bad for a couple of weeks Tennis.
Jay will almost certainly make top 150 and then some !!
Re Marcus, while there may be divergences about how high he could go, I have hardly seen any questioning that he has the talent to go much higher than he has ever been. It's maybe him that needs told that again and again ...
Jay I obviously won't have played much 5 set tennis, unlucky today but a great start and it's only the begining, he has made massive strides in the last 12 months. This time last year who would have thought he would be two sets up in FQR!
A shame for Jay but agree with others that a great week overall. He is progressing so well and has made big strides again this week. His ranking will go up again and he needs time still to go deep in challengers. He's on his way and I still think in time he can reach the top 100.
Well done to Mr Clarke. And no, that's not a 'plucky Brit' well done - it's a genuine here's an 18-year-old in his first Grand Slam qualies who managed to get to the 5th set of the FQR, which would be an accomplishment whatever his nationality was. Great work - and really hope he can continue as he has started.
And, for what it's worth, the people who were ranked roughly where Mr Clarke is now in July three years ago when they were 18 were Nishioka, Chung, and Kokkinakis.
