Kyle Edmund

Interesting stats analysis from atp, apparently Kyle is 4th best on tour at winning games when down 0-30, behind big servers Isner, raonic and copil and well above the average

Maybe a lot of the good players dont get to that position very often, and on the odd occasion that they do there is a reason.

The standings for top 0-30 service game comebacks are based on % rather than number and anyway the article gives the figures for the "big 3" and they did actually have quite a lot of 0-30 occasions.

Isner: 69.5% (41/59)

Edmund: 63.1% (53/84)

Djokovic: 53.9% (48/89)

Federer: 52.5% (32/61)

Nadal: 48.7% (37/76)

Looks fairly conclusive, true.

Being reported on Twitter by both Mike Dickson and Stuart Fraser that Freddie Rosengren has retired from coaching and so will no longer be working with Kyle. They are also saying that Kyle should be back playing within a couple of weeks following his injury problems.

No indication yet on whether Kyle is appointing a new coach or whether Mark Hilton will take on the role. Wouldn't be a bad move, both because of Hilts pedigree and for the sake of continuity.

Interesting. Hope coaching changes will not be a particular negative. When fit and well Kyle had shown real progress in a number of areas under Rosengren

I see Stu Fraser has reported that Kyle is intending to play in next week's Indian Wells Challenger event, presumably with a MD WC.

It would be great to see him free of both injury and illness for a concerted period and look to move back up the rankings, in time to look to make the top 10 and win bigger titles.

Who next for Kyle Edmund?

I am not sure if you peeps saw the news yesterday that Kyle's coach Frederik Rosengren had split with him and immediately announced his retirement from coaching, in order to convey on his family commitments.

So, now Kyle has a decision to make.  Does he continue with Matt Hilton as his coach for the foreseeable future or does he replace Frederik.

My personal opinion is that he should stick with Matt Hilton for the moment until the right coach becomes available because he showed last year that he is capable of playing well and fighting for titles.

The question is, who are the likely contenders to replace Frederik because the only ones I can think of are; Paul Annacone, Magnus Norman, Bob Brett or Sven Groenfeld?

Hi Scottish Mahonio and welcome to the board.  Always good to have new faces.

We did in fact spot that news.  Not much slips by us on this forum, I can assure you wink but thanks for introducing the discussion about what comes next.  Personally I also think he should stick with Mark Hilton for the time being at least.  Hilts is a high quality coach in his own right and was very much part of Evo's run into the Top 50 prior to his "sabbatical".  One of the areas that Kyle can definitely improve is in his net play, and Hilts is the "king of the volley game" and so would be a good match for Kyle right now IMO.

It will be interesting to see if Kyle is thinking the same way.

Also, just for your info as you find your way around the board, we do have a section for individual players where we are discussing matters that are not specific to any particular tournament, so if you suddenly find your thread go missing, don't take it personally.  It will just be that one of the mods has amalgamated it with Kyle's dedicated thread.

Once again, welcome.

This is already being discussed on the dedicated Kyle Edmund thread in the Individual players forum, so I'm moving it there.

By the way, it's Mark Hilton.

There is an interview here with Kyle following his win yesterday which suggests that Hilts will be his full time coach now.
