week 24 - ITF ($100K) - Didsbury, Manchester, UK Grass

Doesn't take any of the 3 but gets a 4th and misses out again.

Frech holds, could be a killer that!

Harriet broken again for 1-4... Then shouts out 'THE worst umpire in the world'. She isn't and things not looking good now 2 breaks down.

But has 0-40 on the Frech serve again

That looked a photo finish. Katy D beats Katie S and Harriet is beaten.

KD wins through in the decider 6-2.

HD falls 6-3 in the decider and continued to complain about the umpires calls which all looked fine to me... just frustration for sure.

I only watched the last 8 games on live stream, and I didn't think there was much between KD and KS. Perhaps the depth of shots was crucial, KD seemed to be hitting very deep, and getting shorter back as a result. A good 10 points for Katy (13 - 3 to drop)

Kick-off time in Manchester....

I'm slightly worried about Harriet - Frech has a good game on grass (although she didn't do too well at Surbiton this year), and Harriet might find it tricky to get going again after last week.

My money's on Katy D over Katie S - probably wrong but .....

Well, got those both right smilecry

Shame for Katie S - it's just not quite happening for her at the moment - and yet there's so much to like about her game. Thought Katy D played some good tennis, though, take nothing away from her.

Harriet will rue this one. But that's tennis ----- Magdalena made the QFs at Surbtion last year and only lost 5-7 in the third set, she's a decent grass court player.

PD Does anyone know who is Katie Swan's coach at the moment?

Not sure if he's her coach but Felgate was watching and seemed to be having a lengthy debrief  with her straight afterwards in the tent next to the public buffet tent. KS was a bit emotional but It was fine lines today And both played pretty well I thought.

As long as it wasn't Jeremy Bates! Saw in Glasgow two years ago having words with Izzy Wallace her mother didn't seem impressed by him

The two Katies are a set up 6-1

Naomi and Maria are a set up against Katy and Harriet 6-2

Thanks, Owen.

And, scottie, I have now elevated Mrs. Wallace to status of 'very smart lady'......hmm

At Surbiton, Katie's coach seemed to be a handsome bearded young man.......
