We've squeaked a few tight ones in the doubles this week, Joss/ Laura were the most impressive, a shame that they get the number 2 seeds next. Joss's serving best I've seen it for a long time and Laura eventhough the results aren't necessarily showing it, is much improved from 12 months ago. Hev gave it her best shot in singles but her level has dropped a bit, being coached by the JTC camp now. Hopefully Tara's foot problem isn't too serious, and Jo will know more tomorrow. A bit lucky to win their doubles, Wickmayer wasn't great today, but did pull off 2 remarkable volleys/ half volleys late on which were quite pivotal. Freya played a solid match, about on a par with last year. Looks like Fitzy's Jo's sole coach this week, Wim with the week off.
I don't understand how Jo has won 300 matches. Doesn't tally with ITF figures by some distance... what else are they including in the 300 total?
The ITF total is for: "Career Singles (ATP*/WTA Tour and ITF Pro Circuit main draw)" i.e. does not include qualifying wins at any level
Adding in the various qualifying wins throughout Johanna's career accounts for the delta between the ITF's number, 236, and the stated 300. The ITF figure also won't yet include any wins from this week - they add them once the players current tournament is completed (i.e. usually on Mondays).
