Harriet is a player whose confidence goes up and down and has ever since junior days. When she's feeling confident and well-supported, she plays really well. Nothing really spectacular but solid, calm and efficient. When her confidence seems to dip, then she's a bit hesitant and over defensive and can have a string of surprising losses. I think this is behind all her coaching changes over the years - just trying to find the right place that lets her relax and blossom. It can be quite hard in this country to get a stable base - players seem to chop and change training bases quite often, meaning the group you train with may go from very motivated to less so quite quickly; and coaches also move around a surprising amount changing the support available at a given centre. I don't know how long she has been at JTC but a number of the women and strong junior girls seem to be quite settled there which, at least, must provide a strong group to work with.

On Harriet, if players with the various deficiencies in stature, ability or temperament like Lauren Davis, Julia Cohen and Grace Min were all able to make the Top 100, I see no reason why Ms. Dart cannot get in to the top 200, at the very least.

I always thought that out of Katie B, Freya, Katy D, and Harriet that Katie Boulter and Harriet were the 2 that I could see in the top 200 and beyond. Some of their losses tend to be when tight so can totally understand the confidence thing. Harriet was so close to qualifying for Wimbledon and if she had I think she'd already be there. It's all fine margins in Tennis. Lady Luck plays a part as well.

I'd agree with your two there in time. Certainly Katie B and settled and confident Harriet may have a chance. Freya has a game that always had a chance of making some impression as a senior, but now maybe needs to find more to really push on.

Of the four, I had a tiny flutter on Katie B and Freya ages ago simply because I saw them when they were 16 and was impressed (and the odds were v good as they were unranked and junior rankings weren't great either). Jodie came in that category too.

Didn't see Harriet until later but, as said, was also impressed. The confidence thing certainly ties in with the shyness issue on court.

Gabi is another who impresses for her age (but that win in Wimbly Q1 destroyed the odds too soon). No shyness there

I'm not convinced by Freya. I've seen her a few times and she has a very one dimensional style and until she adds some variety into her game she will hover in the 300-400 range.

Her high is 286 (Oct 2016), from then it has gone into the 300's to current 355. Last years win percentage was 56%, so far this year her win percentage is lying at 47% - however, still time this year, we are only in the 4th month so time to get that percentage back up.

I've not seen her play recently, however, she's always been gradually improving - so, it might just take some time. A decent junior, JWR at 67, and some nice wins.
