Thank you for welcome. Very kind! Young female athletes will look up to her. More girls need to be determined. She always fights. I like it. She really is a great player. I would pay to watch her. She's entertaining! She was playing today but I do not know result
Nice words. Thanks for sharing.

Welcome Pheonix. Yes, feisty as I said or indeed antsy, lots of fight etc, certainly that attitude has struck us all. I couldn't help smiling in Glasgow as she was giving yeas and fist pumps against ( and it did sometimes seem to ) her experienced top 500 opponent.
I won't get into any further debate ( for now ) as to whether and / or how much her game has improved relative to where she was against her peers one or two years ago, suffice to say I think we'd all agree that in absolute terms she is certainly improving, could well put on another real spurt forward, and is a great prospect who we will be following with much interest.
Thank you. Do you know the result of her game? She's make good investment by going to US. She will do well. She will keep working hard and improving. She is this type of player. You do not make this character. It is the heart and determination. Like Federer or Goran Ivanisevic. Too many girls now are taught too much by coach and become robots
Thank you. She has improved more than her peers definitely. This is what I've seen. Like I said determination in a young player will always bring them above peers. Women: Graf, Capriati, Seles. Technique and technical skill can always be improved. Heart and desire this is something the child is born with or has design for. Collins has it in my opinion. She has a journey still to go on. KeEp working hard, building strength. Building mind. Always looking to improve
Ali's opponent is a year younger than Ali and currently training at the National Training Centre, one of the many Poles d'Excellence, in Paris.
She's had a huge number of injuries, mainly stomach muscle injuries, which have slowed her down a bit as she hasn't been able to train properly.
It looks like it was really close...
NB Just to note that Clara says she will be turning pro (not dropping out of school but moving over to adult tennis) really soon. And that Ali has only played one adult tournament in the last year, whereas Clara - a year younger - has played five.

Regards to injuries, who are you referring to?
Agree, the score shows it was close.
Yes, however, both Clara and Ali do not have singles or doubles rankings in pro circuit. Ali has a career high doubles ranking.
See the first line - I was talking about Ali's opponent, Clara.
The lack of rankings isn't that surprising - it's the amount of adult tennis that I was just mentioning in passing - Clara also plays all the French high level money and team tennis, I'm not saying it's essential but it adds up to a lot more and can be important.
Great indeed from Barnaby. Barnaby and Anton lose in 2 in the doubles SF 6-3 6-2. Good work this week boys.
Ali and her partner Axana Mareen from Belgium lose in the match tiebreak 10-6 against seed #3, after two very close sets 5-7 6-4. Unlucky girls, great work getting to semis.
Ali looks to be going to the G2 in France next week, along with Jack M and Damien.
Barnaby faces seed #1 from Spain tomorrow (SF). Good luck Barnaby, let's go!!!

The Spanish top seed, ranked 10, has won his last two G1s and also has an ATP ranking of 858. Regardless of how he fares tomorrow it will be Barnaby's highest tournament points haul and sees him overtake Finn Bass as top ranked Brit
SF
(1) Alejandro Davidovich Fokina (ESP) v (13) Barnaby Smith
Particularly laudable as Barnaby was not part of the top few, quite far down the rankings, off training in Spain, mainly on his footwork , according to the site, and off the radar. And then made really big strides. Great stuff....
