As another of our interesting 2001-ers, young George Davies has been going about his business, as usual, in South and Central America, clocking up the points.
(There's only him in the event, and can't see any other Brits except those in South Africa, but if any other junior news comes up this week it could go in this thread).

There is a significant Category 1 Tennis Europe under 14 event this week - the Kungens Kanna & Drottningens Pris in Stockholm, Sweden. Jack Draper reached the final in 2015 (and you can see that match via the link below) Three British boys have reached the quarters - Joel Pierleoni, Jack Pinnington Jones and second seed Derrick Chen. On the girls side 12 year old Matilda Mutavdzic, one of the highest ranked 2004s, reached the last 16.
You can watch matches on courts 1 & 2 at http://sportway.se/event/kungens-kanna-drottningens-pris-2017/224 . Joel is on court 2 tomorrow at 9.30 GMT Alternatively follow live scores at http://www.tennisticker.de/swe/sb.html?tournid=3094
Thanks for that, David C. I've never seen Jack Draper play so, given his results, was curious. I didn't find the video via the link you gave, but did find it here: www.youtube.com/watch. He is very good. But the other real 'take-away' point (which confirms what you've said in other contexts) was that Timofey Skatov (who is about a year older, since they're Jan and Dec of 2001) is fairly spectacular.

Sorry that the link didn't include Jack's match (I had clicked through from the tournament website to make it easier to find the current live stream without realising that the link to historic matches had been lost - various previous finals can be found at http://www.kungenskanna.com/?page_id=462 )
Jack and Joel both won (Jack via a final set tiebreak) and play their semis tomorrow simultaneously on the two streamed courts at 9.30 GMT, and return in the afternoon for the doubles final. Derrick lost in straight sets.
Excellent win in Sweden for Jack 6-2 6-3 over the current TE2 Elmer Moller (both the TE1 and 2 are from Denmark unusually) Joel prevailed in a tight three setter to create an all British final tomorrow, streamed at 9.30am GMT The two combined to take the doubles title.
Jack edges a tight first set on the tiebreak. My stream regularly cuts out (possibly because they are using a more sophisticated multi-camera set-up for the finals, rather than the single fixed camera in previous days) but if you have better luck then Joel is the left-hander with red top and Jack right-handed with black and grey top. Note the use of a tennis ball abacus for keeping score and butterfly nets for ball boys. The video which will presumably appear afterwards may well be a better bet than the stream
PS For SC and other 'name linguists', isn't Joel Pierleoni a good one?
No idea, and am not going to look it up, but is he Stone Lion or Peter Lion ???? Both are nice.
I have stooped to looking it up and Wiki has 'sons of Peter Leo' with noble heritage - see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pierleoni_family
The video of the match is now available at http://sportway.se/clip/play/kungens-kanna-drottningens-pris-2017/1883 and is indeed much better than the live stream There is an article about the boys semifinals and doubles success (plus picture) at http://www.kungenskanna.com/?p=2867 The doubles final is at http://sportway.se/clip/play/kungens-kanna-drottningens-pris-2017/1879 at present while I guess that the singles final will eventually transfer to http://www.kungenskanna.com/?page_id=462 for anyone reading this well after the event.
It came to me a couple of hours later (takes me a while......) that actually Peter basically means 'stone', as per Pierre in French, and so I guess Peter Lion and Stone Lion would be the same anyway....
But I like the ides of Sons of Peter Leo - as you say, very noble sounding.
