Freya retired with a calf injury. Ellie impressive again. Has a great all-round game - weight of shot on both wings, good backhand slice and depth put Freya under lots of pressure.
Good news is that Ellie suffered no reaction to her knee surgery ( from the lady herself )
Perishingly cold on court.
4 hour round trip for an hour's tennis
Better luck next time

Thanks for the update bulletin Gary Denton.
Even cautiously hopeful news of Ms. Dean is most welcome.
Hoping Ms. Christie's retirement was purely cautious, aimed at not exacerbating any niggle prior to a return to ranked tournament matches.

Data I post, opinions I offer, 'facts' I assert, are almost certainly all stupidly wrong.
The British Tour moves to Bath this week. Here are the seeded players, in draw order
1/488 Lisa Whybourn [WC]
8 Louise Holtum
3/849 Manisha Foster [WC}
5/1251 Ella Taylor
6/1251 Eden Richardson
4/1116 Alicia Barnett
7 Mollie Crouch
2/739 Beth Grey
Qualifying is tomorrow, seeds not in action until Thursday
Another one that has improved since August, although to be fair, Alicia had only just returned to the UK and competition here
SF Alicia Barnett [4/1116] def Beth Grey [2/739] 6-4 6-1
Yes, I thought Alicia, overall, was clearly about 800 level when she played at the NTC in September. And, playing more pro events, she should hopefully progress.
Well done, Nell, despite coming up just short. Never seen her play live but DavidC posted the streaming link to her a few months ago and it was pretty impressive stuff.
