Well done, Sam

I see that she is on the list for the French 60K for the week beginning 27th March, 8th on the qualifying list just now with a PR of 259.

( assume that's the PR she had last year carrying over since she was out again, I don't really know how it works with successive times out )

In Bolton, 'tiddler' Holly Staff won a three-set marathon against Kasia Pitak to make the final.

In the other semi, 'quasi-tiddler' Ola Pitak also won a three-set marathon (against Olivia Peet)

Unfortunately, the final didn't get played, with Ola conceding a walkover.

In Newcastle, there's one of these new 3-day 'quickie' British Tour events.

The semis are:

Mollie or Ola will overtake Eleanor at the top of the leaderboard if they win this week. Whether they can stay there until after the Premier event at North Oxford at the end of the month and win that wild card into pre-qualies is another matter. Especially if some of the college girls come back and compete (Holly Hutchinson for one has entered several events)

Good point, the a.

Now is the 'business end' of the tour in many ways - never thought the Masters at the end of the year changes a whole heap of beans but the various wildcards are worth having.

Clay or hard court? I always associate Bournemouth with clay as they used to put on clay court ITF events.

Yes, it's clay. It's the only Tier 1 on clay - there are three Tier 2 3-day events as well
