Boys & Girls: ITF East Africa Junior Circuit 3 - Nairobi, Kenya - Clay - Grade 4 (Week 49)

Week 3 in Kenya and this one's a G4.

No Kai this week but the others are doing well so far, with Matt Beecher coming through qualifying again (although Charley Gregory and Harry Thursfield didn't)

R1 (L48):

(q) Matthew BEECHER (GBR)     6-0 4-0 Retired    Harris IRFAN-UL-HAQ (PAK)

George LOFFHAGEN (GBR) [8]     BYE

R2 (L32):

(q) Matthew BEECHER (GBR)     6-2 6-4     Karan SRIVASTAVA (IND) [6]

George LOFFHAGEN (GBR) [8]     6-0 6-0     Shabani KABURA (BDI)

Girls:

R1:

Oleksandra BALABA (UKR)     6-3 6-2     Scarlett HUTCHINSON (GBR)

Scarlett and Matt are both through to the quarters in the doubles. George not playing.

Another nice win over a seed for Matt:

George LOFFHAGEN (GBR) [8] 6-2 6-1 Abdella Nedim MOHAMMED (ETH) [11]

Matt is also through to the semis in the doubles, as is Scarlett Hutchinson.

It was a washout in the singles:

Sheil KOTECHA (KEN) [1] 6-3 6-1 Matthew BEECHER (GBR)

Alexander Maarten JONG (NED) [3] 6-1 5-7 6-4 George LOFFHAGEN (GBR) [8]

But Matt is through to the doubles final

SF: Matthew BEECHER (GBR) / Rithvik Choudary BOLLIPALLI (IND) [8] 6-3 4-6 [11-9] Dev JAVIA (IND) / Karan SRIVASTAVA (IND) [4]

Scarlett lost out in the semis of her doubles semi.

You win a title with one partner, and the others all begin to worry that you won't have time for them any more : twitter.com/beechy12/status/807227688792494080

Congratulations to Matthew Beecher and partner. And family.
