PS: I hadn't twigged, until I was looking up the ages of some of the UK players, how young Kecmanovic is - he's actually a late summer 1999, so just a few months older than Finn Bass, more than a year younger than Alexis Canter, and about ten months younger than Max Stewart. In actuality, five of the top 10 are 1999s or 2000s ... and I'd strongly doubt that any of them (Kecmanovic, FAA, Shapovalov, Yibing Wu, and Alex de Minaur) is planning to play a full junior schedule next year. But then 8 of the next 10 (11-20) are also 1999s or 2000s! Will be interesting to see how many of them play on ... and what the impact is on our younger players.
It's very refreshing to see such a precocious group of youngsters and the game is definitely in need of a refresh from below of boys capable of being top 100 and pushing top 50 as teenagers. We need some superstars to replace the Feds and Rafas of this world and fill the void that will be left as Andy and Novak standards dip with age.
Our strongest group of boys for sometime is the present cohort of U16's who sit directly behind the group you just mentioned. They will get an opportunity to progress rapidly up the rankings unchecked by this group going pro but I can't see them being really competitive in the final rounds of slams as 17 year olds which is what you would really hope to see. The GS draws will more closely resemble the girls with a number of really strong boys (unseeded) coming back from fulltime main tour to play.
Don't ask me to quote how it works, but I am sure that senior rankings are taken into consideration in junior seedings. So players doing really well in the senior ranks would be seeded.
Our under 16s are relatively pretty good, indeed particularly some 2001s such as Anton and Jack. They do though yes still need to really keep pushing on to really impact on competitive u18s and in time senior tennis. Be interesting to follow how they progress.

The seeding comparison charts can be found at Appendix L of www.itftennis.com/media/224002/224002.pdf Essentially if you are in the ATP top 600 or WTA top 325 you will probably be seeded (depending on how many of the top ranked juniors enter)
