Boys & Girls: Nike Junior International, Liverpool (@Wirral), Hard - Grade 5 (Week 47)

Some feedback:
Hamish Stewart - too good for this level. Well over 6ft, big serve, powerful and has a terrific backhand down the line pass, the Italian he played was quite useful
Andrew Rozanov - big serve, very solid game a little too good for James Story
Allan Deschamps - could be a danger, returned very well against George and was too solid for him.
Adam Jones - local boy, lives 5mins down the road, somewhat lucky to come through this match and his power and knowhow won him through in the end. Jacob is going to be one big talent. He is only 15, looks about 13 - very small for his age, but has a decent serve, his movement is excellent and he came up with some sublime winners.

Expect Hamish to win both singles and doubles

Esther Adeshina - easy win, solid and powerful. Summer was very inconsistent and it seemed to be error or winner, more errors though.
Hannah McColgan - close match, but that was expected. Both very tall and you can see why both have done ok on the main tour. Hannah was slightly more consistent, but is slightly older
Destinee has come on a lot since I last saw her. The forehand is a major weapon now, Olivia is a good mover and decent defensively, but lacks the power to cause major problems at this level.
It will be an Esther v Hannah final and that could be close.

Only 2 matches in the girls doubles - Esther and Erin won a tight match against Millie and Vic. Hannah and her partner had a comfortable win over young Indi and Holly Staff.
This has another Esther v Hannah final written all over it.

Am very impressed that Destinee ran Hannan McC so very close - Destinee must have been only a couple of points away from the win - very promising (and in light of what paulisi said above - it's always great to see youngsters make sudden big improvements:

Semifinal

Esther ADESHINA (GBR) [1] 6-2 2-6 6-2 Mae MCCUTCHEON (GBR)
Hannah MCCOLGAN (GBR) [7] 5-7 7-6(5) 6-2 Destinee MARTINS (GBR)

Seeing proved reliable in the boys:

Semifinal

Hamish STEWART (GBR) [1] 7-6(2) 6-4 Andrew ROZANOV (GBR) [5]
Adam JONES (GBR) [2] 1-6 6-3 7-5 Allan DESCHAMPS (FRA) [8]

All 4 titles are destined in part or whole to Brits, with Hannah and Esther contesting both girls finals as Paulisi predicted

Boys doubles Final

Jones/MacLean v (4) Lewis/Mills

Girls doubles final

(4) Mattel/McColgan v (3) Adeshina/Richardson
