Strongbrow: thanks for that UK junior tennis was at grave risk of Holly depletion in the run up to Christmas! the Emily's have or about to take such a big hit that I can't really see them coming back and it is likely we will only get a short burst of Summer on a brighter note the Katie's have been hammered (only a Katrynza... Does that count, at Nottingham) although being hardy perennials it is inevitably they will return For the time being we are in a generation of nominal diversity.

This did make me chuckle......I'm only just getting over all the lads not being called Josh or Dan.  Farris??.....Lloyd???....what sort of names are they for a tennis player!!!

Well done Holly - ITF haven't posted the final result yet but this should take her to 650-670 in the juniors.

Great stuff

Assuming she's won the title her singles win and doubles SF will take her to 91.25 points which actually look likely to get her top 600.

47.5 + ( 40 + 15/4 ) = 91.25

Very pleased for her, her family and coaches great result.

Having watched some of the footage from the Les petits As, Holly looks a very exciting prospect. I know it's very early days but it will be interesting to reflect on her doubles win there with Ema Radacanu in 6-7 years time. Clearly a very talented age group.

I see that Holly is on the list for Curro - Week 2, which is a Grade 3. Hopefully she will do some more damage there.

I mean she only has a little over 5 years left as junior qualified.

According to websites, Holly has been doing strength and conditioning work with Nino Severino, has been working hard with the Mouratoglou academy.... As well as her main base in the US, of course.

She's always been the most promising youngster, in my view. And the international approach will, I think, stand her in good stead.

The only fright I got was when some Bermuda/Caribbean (can't remember) newspaper listed her as German and I thought, noooooooooo ! But I think they were just mistaken, given her parentage.
