It does make you wonder if she's had other things on her mind recently. Although as has been said it could also just be company, best not to put 2 and 2 together just yet.
She's ranked 362 on Monday - so she'll be lucky to get into anything above 25k - sad to see her there with Katy and Naomi
It's not that long ago in the 1st quarter of 2018 when she won 4 $25k tournaments. One opponent she beat then was Bolsova who's now in the top 100. Later on she beat Astra Sharma who reached a WTA final and has now qualified for Cincinnati. It might have finished up the same in the long run but you never know what might have happened had she played the Fed Cup tie against Nara last year.
And I for one would have played Gabi against Nara in that tie, and kept Heather fresh for the doubles. Her coaching team was definitely the best it's been early last year and by Sept or so, both her early year coaches had gone and were working elsewhere. I really don't know what's happened this year, and quite who is coaching Gabi at this time, but not only did her Spanish coaches then improve her game, they improved her temperament too and kept her match focused. This year, what I've seen, not only has her match play slipped, but so has her on court focus and demeanour. Would love to see her back with a little more optimism.
I was reading the top of this thread, and wondering why people are so down on Gabi (or any other player) having a life/relationship outside training? They're still human, and mostly young adults.

I think it's Lloyd Glasspool that is the problem not that Gabi has a boy friend. From what I can remember Mr. Glasspool could see nothing wrong with Ilie Nastase's antics at the 2017 Fed Cup tie with Rumania. There's nothing wrong with relationship's because Jo's career picked up in 2015 when her then boyfriend was travelling with her. Judy Murray commented on that at the time. The disappointment is that Gabi having got into the world's top 170, picked for a Fed Cup team and beaten 2 players of a similar age now in the top 100 has got to the stage where her ranking has fallen to the extent where she won't qualify for $25k's anymore.
