The geography in and around Tennessee is a bit challenging in that Tennessee has borders with 10% of all the states in the U.S. As Brendan points out the tournament is in Lexington Kentucky. So the home of University of Kentucky a basketball powerhouse I would be surprised if the University of Kentucky tennis team come out to cheer a volunteer particularly when his opponent is from the UK!
Oakland and Brendan, thank you for being so gracious about probably easily the most geographically off post ever to make it onto this board. Memo to self: thought process that goes: check university of WC whom you (at least) remember is at university ... discover it's Tennessee ... assume he must therefore be home player (forgetting title of thread) ... and therefore this must be the Knoxville Challenger (ditto) ... and make comment on this basis (ditto again) ... is not a good one.
Good luck to all the players. Some interesting matches there!
Mitchell Krueger Juan Londero (Alt) James Ward Daniel Nguyen
Some decent chances there for Lloyd. On current form, I would back him to beat Wardy. Part of me hopes that they avoid each other but it would at least guarantee a Brit in R2.
