I thought Heather had points coming off though? You are probably right though. Having said that only a matter of time I think until Naomi takes 2nd I think. The fact she can get results by not playing with with her ugly game helps. We don't have many players that win ugly.
Except I don't think Hev has much to defend until the end of the year, and Naomi does.

According to the guru, Heather was only defending one point from this week, and next off is 90 from 15th August. But Naomi has 48 to defend from the week before, so it is going to be pretty close between them - if Naomi can keep winning.
Naomi has overall quite a lot more points to defend by year end, just slightly alleviated by better scores in reserve.
210 of Heather counting points are due off by year end compared to 308 of Naomi's. And after Heather's 90 points on 15/08 Naomi's points are generally coming off earlier with all 308 points due off by the end of September.
But in the short term if Naomi did beat Muguruza she would certainly go GB #2, not enough in itself for this coming Monday, but certainly for 15/08 since with the Olympics Heather will get in no prior defense of her 90 points due off then. So to that extent Jaggy is right, beat Muguruza and Naomi will be #2. To be fair he didn't actually originally say this coming Monday so I guess he'd win on that one

Anyway, let's hope they both find both better and winning form. Naomi's managing the latter pretty well just now.

JoKo up! Coverage available.
I don't expect much from her this week, might even lose or retire today. Rogers had some good wins here before, beating Genie in front of an adoring crowd, in her back yard at the top of her form.
Points here as it's Premier 5 are very quick to accumulate, so here's hoping for a Naomi v. JoKo R3!
Johanna working quite hard now to try and motivate herself and just get through, geeing herself up, as she's only playing about 40% of what she had in Stanford, which is understandable.
Just getting enough out of herself at the moment, 6-4 4-2*
Nicely done Jo
Adjusting from the lightning quick Stanford courts so quickly and all the elation and hullabaloo of the title can't be easy, so a good grounded professional performance today.
Happy days when an under-par performance fromm Jo results in a routine easy win over a decent top 60 player. 6-4, 6-2
I believe I overheard her complaining to her coach that she was having trouble adjusting to the bounce; so that'll get better. And she just kinda dozed off at the start of the second set.
But even without Serena, she has a lousy draw, with probably Babos next, to be followed an all-Brit clash in R3, unless Garbine beats Naomi.
