Easy peasy, if it's Genie next that will be a whole different kettle of fish. She'll be playing against a hugely partisan crowd, a player in form, and who beat her last time out.
Blotted her copy book in the final game, by conceding her only BP (but played a great winner to save it).
So...
If it's Genie on Center, it's a Fed Cup atmosphere, and if she wins it could be.... well, let's just wait.
Well done again Jo just keeps going. That's 7 consecutive match wins, and considering her bye last week meant she started late in the week, they've come in little over a week.
I'm wondering when the press are really going to notice, and when we can start talking contention for SPOTY?
Good to see it decided quickly. That's her 7th match in 10 days, which is a tougher schedule than a Slam winner plays. Occasionally, she looks knackered.
Heather+Bethanie v 2Chan next. This could be one of the biggest matches of Hev's career. BMS turns up at Slams to win the doubles, and it looks like her and Safarova may have split. There was a lot to impress in Heather's Wimbledon run - she didn't drop serve in either the semi, or the final, or possibly all tournament (I wasn't paying attention earlier). That's good for a woman in mixed.
BMS was WR12 at the start of this tournament, Hev WR112; so I presume that BMS knocked on Hev's door. If they win tonight, Bethanie's back into the top 10... where her regular doubles partner could naturally expect to join her in time...
Massive congratulations to Kristina Kucova. Fully 7 years, almost to the day, since she last reached her CH of an agonisingly close WR103, she today came back from a set down against Genie in front of a raucous and partisan crowd in Montreal, playing some very clever, quality tennis, to win the match 6-3 in the third.
This win means that she will, finally, break into the Top 100 come Monday. A long wait, but probably all the sweeter for it. Congratulations Kristina
Which means...
L16: Johanna KONTA (GBR) [15] 14 defeated (LL) Varvara LEPCHENKO (USA) [3] 50 6-3 6-2
QF: Johanna KONTA (GBR) [15] 14 v. (Q) Krisina KUCOVA (SVK) 121 (CH 103, Aug. 2009)
Jo is playing brilliantly and the draw has opened up for her nicely. Potential matches against Serena and Muguruza never materialised and looking at the current draw she could well go all the way again.
Blotted her copy book in the final game, by conceding her only BP (but played a great winner to save it).

SPOTY?! Are you on crack?
She'd have to win US Open bare minimum to even be in contention for the shortlist.
