Boys & Girls: Malahide ITF, Ireland, carpet - Grade 5 (Week 29)

After two GB domestic events, there are now two in Ireland which, naturally, have quite a large number of British entrants, including many 'youngsters'.

In the boys, Josh Rose and Emile Hudd are seeded 2 and 3.

In the girls, Destinee and Essence Martins, and Summer Yardley, are seeded 2, 3 and 4.

In the scores to date:

Girls R1 (L32):

Boys R1 (L32):

Thomas Davies' result still to come

In Ireland, there's two guaranteed GB cup winners, as the boys' doubles is an all Brit affair; Summer is also in the girls' dubs final:

Final:

Emile HUDD (GBR) / Joshua ROSE (GBR) [1] v Oliver MAYO (GBR) / Sebastian TONG (GBR)

Sophia DERIVAN (IRL) / Summer YARDLEY (GBR) [1] v Kristina BARAN (FRA) / Fanni GECSEK (HUN) [3]

It's an all-Brit final in the boys, and an all-Irish final in the girls:

SemiFinal Boys:

Emile HUDD (GBR) [3] 6-3 6-0 Zummy BAUER (USA) [1]

Joshua ROSE (GBR) [2] 6-2 6-1 Neil O'CONNOR (IRL)

Semifinal Girls

Sophia DERIVAN (IRL) [1] 6-2 6-1 Caragh COURTNEY (IRL)

Caoimhe DUFFY NIBLOCK (IRL) 4-6 7-5 7-6(7) Summer YARDLEY (GBR) [4]

And really close in the doubles - well done to both teams -

FINAL:

Final

Emile HUDD (GBR) / Joshua ROSE (GBR) [1] 4-6 - 6-4 - [12-10] Oliver MAYO (GBR) / Sebastian TONG (GBR)

A little congratulations in passing to young Caoimhe Duffy Niblock (you've got to LOVE Irish spellings - Caoimhe, pronounced Keeva smile)

Born 2001, she was unseeded, ranked about 1600 and came through the whole way to take the title, winning all five matches in three sets, including one that went to a third set T-B, that she won 9-7
