Pity. She's clearly been struggling a bit with hopefully not too serious injury issues and perhaps it was just pushing it too hard to really be back for the Wimbledon weeks.
Hope she can now get things settled with a bit of time.
Sad news for Katie having to retire, and she looked really upset too :( Looked like a recurrence of the problem that kept her out in the lead up to Wimbledon.
Jodie did come through to win the third set nicely, though, 6-1
Shame Maia and Georgie couldn't take advantage of favourable draws. But Maia has played reasonably little top level tennis recently, and isn't really a grass court player, it's not that surprising.
