Girls: Wimbledon 2016, grass - Grade A (Week 27)

Given their ages, that's one of the best sets of junior tennis I've seen for a while - way more winners, and well-constructed points, and less daft unforced errors, from both girls.

Jones at 5-3 and 15-30 on the Arango serve. Not far away...

YES! She does it! A well crafted point to take the game 4-6 7-6 6-3 vs the Colombian! Woohoo!

Fran's will to win was in clear evidence, and it seemed by the end she was imposing that on her opponent.

Jodie has a tough draw (as did Ali) but there again it is a slam. Should be a good game.

I forget who shared the story about Francesca Jones (CD? Optimist?) a while ago, but thanks to them I've been looking out for her results. Lovely to see this one. Well done also to Ms Taylor. And it looks as if Ms Lazic put up a decent fight against the 2nd seed, too.
