5 of the 6 qualifying wildcards have gone to Brits (one to Aussie star Seone Mendez) leaving Gabi Taylor, Fran Jones, Ema Lazic, Georgina Axon, Ali Collins, Eden Richardson and possibly Maia Lumsden as likely recipients of main draw wildcards.

Lauryn looks to have a draw offering a good chance of qualifying. Eliz plays the girl who knocked Jodie Burrage out of the Roland Garros qualification - and took a set off the top seed Pervushina this week.

Surprisingly they have already done the main draw before qualifying ends. Maia does have a wildcard, while Katie is in the top quarter, with the first seed she could face a familiar foe and partner, Sofia Kenin. Ema Lazic draws the second seed and Roland Garros champion Rebeka Masarova, who has been a finalist in her last 4 junior events.

R1 (L64)

Tatiana Pieri (ITA) v Emily Appleton
(12) Katie Swan v Q
(WC) Ali Collins v (8) Sofia Kenin (USA)
Q v (WC) Georgina Axon
Jodie Anna Burrage v Caty McNally (USA)
(WC) Maia Lumsden v (Q)
Taylor Johnson (USA) v (WC) Eden Richardson
Emiliana Arango (COL) v (WC) Francesca Jones
(WC) Gabriella Taylor v Morgan Coppoc (USA)
(WC) Ema Lazic v (2) Rebeka Masarova

The qualifiers have now been placed - and Lauryn's luck ran out, as she plays the Aussie who impressed against Katy Dunne at Ilkley. Katie's qualifier is also ranked inside the top 500 WTA, with a number of wins over British players. There are only a handful of junior matches today but included are the two Brits facing seeds (Ali & Ema) third and fourth on court 17. In addition Fran is fifth on court 4

R1 (L64)

Tatiana Pieri (ITA) v Emily Appleton
(12) Katie Swan v (Q) Mariam Bolkvadze (GEO)
(WC) Ali Collins v (8) Sofia Kenin (USA)
(Q) Lauryn John-Baptiste v Jaimee Fourlis (AUS)
(Q) Lara Salden (BEL) v (WC) Georgina Axon
Jodie Anna Burrage v Caty McNally (USA)
(WC) Maia Lumsden v (Q) Paula Arias Manjon (ESP)
Taylor Johnson (USA) v (WC) Eden Richardson
Emiliana Arango (COL) v (WC) Francesca Jones
(WC) Gabriella Taylor v Morgan Coppoc (USA)
(WC) Ema Lazic v (2) Rebeka Masarova

That's a very kind draw, and one of the strongest fields of British contenders that I've ever seen in a significant competition.

KatieS, Gabi, Maia and Jodie all get separate quarters; and all four should fancy their chances of getting to the QFs.

High hopes that the last really big Brit Junior achievement - Katie's RU at the Oz Open '15 - is eclipsed here.

Seems to be less streamed courts on the BBC site today????

No sign of Ali's match or Max Stewart's or Alastair Gray's match in the boys....

Only 12 courts?

But Fran is hitting the fluff off the ball.... (although currently down against a neat player)

For two 15 year-olds, they are playing some lovely tennis.
