I for another long five-setter for Roger the Lodger to give me a sporting chance to see most, if not all, of Andy's match courtesy of a slightly earlier departure from the office & that he will be able to finish off Berd-brain relatively quickly.
Odd that McEnroe is commentating on the match and his ''man'' Raonic is taking part
There's been times he's been commenting on other matches when Raonic has been on and said he's been half checking the other court monitor a lot of the time.
Does all seem kind of odd, though I get the impression that Mac is more just a mentor than proper coach. Not really sure ?
Raonic started well, but after double faulting in the second set tie-break, Federer has looked in complete control. Raonic has offered nothing in rallies or against the serve. But that game up 6-5 was phenomenal - seemed to find another level out of nowhere and we have a game again.
Will be interesting to see how Federer's body holds up. He's never really shown signs of his age catching up with him in terms of fitness, but this is his second five-setter in succession. Not to mention the mental fatigue - as Murray has attested it, it's mentally knackering against big servers, due to the focus required on every return.
Federer now having more treatment on his leg/ankle down a break point. Now then...
Great by Raonic on his second BP, very good rally but Fed just couldn't put ball out of reach of Raonic keeping giving him a decent look and finally paid.
And it's over. Raonic it is: 6-3 6-7 (3) 4-6 7-5 6-3.
To be honest, a huge testimony to Federer that it went to 5 sets: I didn't (as per earlier comment) think he'd be able to do that. Hope that the next match is a swift Murray win.
Almost complete opposite to Federer's last match that - he had several opportunities in the fourth set to get the break, was completely unthreatened on serve, then threw away a 40-0 love lead at 6-5 (double faulting at 40-30) which seemed to invigorate Raonic to step it up a gear.
Great win for Raonic. This could well be his time. He's a match for anyone on this surface.
[...] Hope that the next match is a swift Murray win.
Well, you got your wish, Spectator:
SF: (2) Andy Murray WR 2 defeated (10) Tomas Berdych (CZE) WR 9 by 3, 3 & 3 in an hour & 57 minutes
Almost an anti-climax! More comfortable than I expected, but a relief that he did the business with fewer of the histrionics that he displayed in the JWT match. For the record, Raonic's match against Roger the Lodger lasted three hours & 25 minutes.

Final: (6) Milos Raonic (CAN) WR 7 (CH = 4 in May last year) vs (2) Andy Murray WR 2
The head-to-head is 6-3 in Andy's favour, Andy having won the last five matches on the trot, most recently the final at Queen's (from a set down), their first encounter on grass.
It should be an interesting final. I think the fact that the final is five sets is a mark against Milos' chances, but his match today was exceptional in places, and I'm quite looking forward to it. That said, Murray against a big server in his first grand slam final not against Fed or Nole, he needs to win it if he has hopes of expanding his cabinet.
I believe that Andy is now at a personal ranking points high of 9395 points, beating his 9360 points in 2013 between his Wimbledon title win and his Olympic title points coming off.
I do think over 10000 will look much better though.
