I wouldn't be surprised if Luke ended up getting one.
If you look at the qualifying draw for the two WC play-of places posted by Madadman on a dedicated threat, you will see that both Luke & Jonny are in it, alongside soem other familiar names.

1. HAAS, Tommy (GER) 2. KLEIN, Brydan (GBR) 3. NORRIE, Cameron (GBR) 4. SHAPOVALOV, Denis (CAN) 5. WARD, James (GBR) 6. To be announced 7. To be announced 8. To be announced
presumably the final 3 wild cards if given will go to anyone of:
Marcus Willis and/or Jay Clarke - if they reach the semis at Ilkley, as Russell Fuller predicted on Five Live tonight (there was a good interview with Marcus on Five Drive, with Russell commenting afterwards - Marcus said last years money hadnt stretched too far and he was looking to re enter the tour full time soon.)
the Ilkley winner if not qualified already - few players at Ilkley including Fucsovics, Millman, Marchenko, Fritz, Groth, Millot, Fratangelo, Halys and Bolt who if they win Ilkley could take a wild card.
If one left over, maybe someone from Challenger events that has performed well over the 3 week circuit - Groth was a semifinalist in last weeks Nottingham event, so maybe a RU position at Ilkley would give him enough combined credit to get in as a WC. he is also a known name which helps.
And of course they may not give all 3 out - maybe Boris Becker could do with the cash and take one if available to play ??
As much as I dislike and all that surrounds these wretched things could Stefan Koslov be a contender to take up one of the yet to be allocated wc's. I mean if they can see fit to give one to James Ward and Brydan Klein?
''The other reason I'm OK with it is that he's not depriving someone else who is more worthy''
Nobody more worthy - really???
Not I believe what Helen was saying. I read it as her saying that since there are still 3 unallocated MD WCs James' MD WC did not in itself appear to have prevented say Marcus and / or Jay getting one.
Wish I could agree on that one Indy but I read it completely differently - given that she never refers (or at least states) to the still 3 unallocated WCs once. At the end of the day we both know why these are allocated but to say that there is nobody more worthy than James Ward really is stretching a bit? Frankly, I think is bias patriotic nonsense.

Why on earth would they want to hand a WC to a Pesky, if, as I reported yesterday, Wimbledon's contention is that "wild cards are usually offered on the basis of past performance at Wimbledon or to increase British interest"??? Better that they go unallocated, IMHO.
Does anyone know where there is a list or this years total prize money breakdown? I can find the singles but not qualifiers, doubles, wheelchair etc.
I ask because I had assumed a Doubles WC and a singles QWC would earn about 8k but I think it's actually highter and nearer 10-12k. Nice wee earner for the likes of Marcus based on not playing much since last year.
Why not use up all WQ WC for British players including [..] Peter Bothwell
Had the pleasure of meeting Pete (and Sam) Bothwell in Palma del Rio last weekend. In case you are interested, he has just tweeted a link of a video, of his 3rd set TB in round 1.

The most interesting to me is the number of people watching (there were nearly a hundred watching Ewan's FQR match) and also the sponsorship/marketing. Cruzcampo are heavily promoting the tournament and it brings people in. Their latest tweet describes Pete as the "revelation of the tournament".
I think British clubs could learn a lot from this.
Yes certainly seems much more marketing and bringing people in in much of the rest of Europe. Clubs and authorities both.
Meantime many aspiring Brits start on let's call it "The Road to Wimbledon" where dreams may start to take shape. Ahh, it's behind closed doors
You'd think that now the qualies are no longer open to everyone and require ticket purchase in advance, they would at least allow spectators into the WC playoff event. At least they have posted the opening results on the LTA website more quickly than in previous years - see dedicated thread.

Jaggy, I don't know how to put a pdf link (pathetic, I know - how do you copy and paste the address if you can't see the actual address?)
and click on the 'full breakdown of 2017 prize money', you'll get all the details.
PS And your 10-12k is still well conservative - it's 4,375 for the qualis first round, and 10,750 for the doubles first round - that's over 15k ..... as you say, a 'nice little earner' indeed.....
