Katie Swan has just got hammered 1-6 in the first set by the qualifier.

Jay lost 7-6 (3) 7-5 to some American I don't know at all. Which is a shame but, again, hardly critical.

Emily Appleton is down in the first set which is maybe more to be expected, given how well the young American Caty did earlier this year.

Plenty of time for both Katie and Em to turn it around though.

Katie does seem to specialise in slow starts; glad she turned that one around :D

They were tough draws for both girls. Shytkouskaya may have been a qualifier but she has done quite well in recent weeks in singles. McNally was always going to be favourite against Emily and sadly, I think that went how I expected. Glad Katie was able to turn it around, but another very tough match against the American Subhash awaits.

Worth mentioning in passing that the top seed, World No. 2, Watanuki, also lost this morning, easily, to a qualifier.

Unfortunately for Ryan , the second seed, Tsitsipas, adult WR top 500, who just won the 10k in Italy, (and junior top 10), didn't.....so he's Ryan's opponent next....

If 14yr old Anisimova gets to the final, I think she will become junior no.1

Ah yes, the Tsitsipas that beat Jay Clarke 2 & 3 in last week's 10K QF on the way to that title.

That one. The 2nd highest ATP-ranked person eligible to play junior tournaments who is still playing them to a significant degree (the highest being Shapovalov).

The two 14-year-old American girls seem very impressive.

Again, Katie has lost the first set, 3-6 - to the 14 year-old American (their third-ranked 14 year-old!)

Time for another fight back?

(Mind you, the other two 14 year-old US talents have lost their first sets)
