Just about every eligible boy is here. As things stand, Jay Clarke should be seeded and Ryan Storrie also makes the MD. Alexis Canter and Alaistair Gray are is Qs, with Ewan Moore 10th ALT.
Katie Swan is 9th ranked girl, and Emily Appleton also made the MD; Jodie's recent form gets her a place in Qs. Vondrousova turns up, and should be favourite; though she will not be seeded, based on her Junior ranking, after her singles and doubles winner's points from the Italian Open 2015 are deducted.

An interesting phenomenon. Somewhat unusually (at least in my memory) there are more people still to finish their final year of junior eligibility who are ranked in the top 200 in the ATP than in the WTA: no '98s in the top 200 of the WTA; two in the ATP. When you get down to 200 - 300, the girls win out: one boy (Duckhee Lee) and six girls (Xu, Sabalenka, Bouzkova, Fridman, Tessah A and Cici Bellis), of whom, as CD notes, only Tessa A is playing. At 300-400, it's 2 (Shapovalov, Mmoh) v seven (Birrell, Hon, Kuzmova, Kingsley, Galfi, Kenin and Vondrousova).
I know that they need to transition and it can be good to get out of juniors, but I do sometimes think it would be good fun to have all of the top eligible junior players playing: on the boys side, of the top-ranked ATP lot, only four are playing (Shapovalov, FAA, Ruud and Tsitsipas). On the girls side, it's only three: Vondrousova, Tessah A, and Kenin.

I wonder where Katie Swan will be WTA ranked this time next year ( currently WR 446 ). She will be another one who will no doubt pass on the French Open next year. And without wanting to put any pressure on maybe Jodie Burrage and Emily Appleton will be climbing the rankings then too.

Qualifying starts tomorrow and Ewan Moore has made the cut at the last moment to join Alexis, Alastair and Jodie (top seeded after her recent exploits). His opponent is the twin of the player Jeremy Gschwendtner ousted today in Hungary. Two wins are needed for qualification.
Boys QR1
Ewan Moore v (12) Mattias Siimar (EST)
(5) Alexis Canter v (WC) Hugo Gaston (FRA)
(6) Alastair Gray v Riccardo Balzerani (ITA)
Hmm, Alexis may have played here there and everywhere and got a decent junior ranking, but I'm not sure his tennis is hugely progressing. Where is he based ?
Would be good to see Jodie qualify plus make MD progress.
