While most of our top juniors in action are in Morocco, Fran Jones is here and you can follow her progress on live scores at http://www.tennisticker.de/aut/sb.html?tournid=2802 She opens against a wildcard who has had modest results at G4/5 level
Fran won her doubles to reach the semis. Her next singles opponent hasn't recorded many victories this year - Eden Richardson having defeated her twice
Fran joins the top 3 seeds in the semis. Although not from a country noted for clay court expertise the second seed has had her best results on the surface
Good stuff. Fran has moved ahead of Ali Collins the junior rankings for all that that doesn't matter much at their stages. Just good to see another year bringing through at least two girls and they seem to be continuing to progress well.
Having dealt with the second seed Fran faces the top seed, who is in a second consecutive G2 final, with a CV including a win against top Canadian Charlotte Robillard-Millette in Australia. Winning the title should move Fran just inside the top 100.
