This G2 semi (and counting) is Fran's best ever result.

She'll have a nice jump up the rankings, practically up to Ali, and not all that far from the top 100. As our two best 2000s, it's looking good.

Fran joins the top 3 seeds in the semis. Although not from a country noted for clay court expertise the second seed has had her best results on the surface

Good stuff. Fran has moved ahead of Ali Collins the junior rankings for all that that doesn't matter much at their stages. Just good to see another year bringing through at least two girls and they seem to be continuing to progress well.

Having dealt with the second seed Fran faces the top seed, who is in a second consecutive G2 final, with a CV including a win against top Canadian Charlotte Robillard-Millette in Australia. Winning the title should move Fran just inside the top 100.
