If Jack wins (last on court tonight) he will have to play last week's winner Timofey Skatov, who continued where he left off last week, with the same score as Nell

Only doubles in Sweden today, but wins for Nell+, and for Jack and Emile, playing together.

Nell carries on:

Nell MILLER (GBR) 6-2 6-2 Ekaterina SIMAKOVA (RUS) [6]

(Lisa Wang lost to Simakova in R1 - the results may well have been inversed when David posted the R2 draw)

Jack lost out to Skatov by 1&3. UTR difference of 0.10 would suggest it ought to have been closer than that, but the Russian looks a fierce prospect.

Miller should be favourite for the title now, according to the Universal Tennis Ratings.

The Brit has 10.13, while her nearest challenger she will probably face in the final, fourth seed Ksenia Domnina, at 9.91. I've been running a few experiments as to exactly how accurate the UTR is, especially outside of college tennis at junior level, and generally around 85%+ of the results in a given junior event are won by the player with the higher UTR. Obviously everything depends on the situation on the day, outside factors can affect things, sheer fate and chance, but Nell should be considered the favourite to win.

It makes sense that Nell's passage through to the semis so far has been so easy; generally players within 1.0 UTR of each other should have a competitive match, i.e. win 7 games or more in a best-of-3 clash:

Miller (UTR 10.13)

R1 vs Branholm (UTR 6.06) 6-0 6-0
R2 vs Simakova (UTR 8.91) 6-2 6-2
R3 vs Storkaas (UTR 7.89) 6-2 6-0
