Ryan James STORRIE (GBR) [10] def. Lukas KLEIN (SVK) [1] 7-6(4) 6-1
Luca PREVOSTO (ITA) def. Ewan MOORE (GBR) [15] 6-2 6-4
Good luck in the semis, Ryan !!! He gets the unseeded Italian player who played a really long difficult match today to beat the Hungarian seed. Hopefully he's still a tad tired tomorrow.....
The Italian with a long match today vied with Corentin Moutet for star billing as top European in his year ('99), but whereas Moutet has progressed reasonably quickly into the ITF top 50 over a year ago before transitioning into the ATP top 1000, Ramazzotti's progress has been more of a slow burn.

(10) Ryan James Storrie v Samuele Ramazzotti (ITA)
Ewan seems to be sensibly making the trip out there even more worthwhile by playing his QR1 match in the Croatian 10k in Pula tomorrow - good planning and good luck - although I hope he didn't have that at the back of his mind when playing his singles here today.
Of course, it would be even nicer if the LTA would send a coach, or pay for an inscription fee, or donate a free pair of tennis socks .... :(
I can just imagine the federation coaches from the other countries, going : 'So, Britain: You've got SO many players in G1 finals, have you, that you can afford to have no interest????'
Jay, with his Grade 2 titles, presumably feels the same....
However, young Ryan seems to be doing very nicely thank you, there all on his lonesome...
Long may it continue (the success, that is, not necessarily the 'lonesome' )

Ryan continues to impress. His schedule has meant he consistently played in tournaments that have yielded contests against the worlds best juniors, beating the young man about whom BIS was waxing lyrical in Murcia, De Minaur, and pushing the likes of Mmoh, Karimov, Yimer and Shapolova in close games, repeatedly and closer in the case of Karimov.
This consistency is what impresses and there is obviously some support and indeed recognition of his potential and achievements within the LTA in that Ryan is getting around to some very well selected tournaments and adding the LTA (and specifically Martin Weston) in their live coaching sessions (which I enjoyed). So I guess there is a relationship, but different from that the previous generation had.
I have absolutely no idea how funding is dripping through to young players in the form of travel grants and coaching but Ryan seems to have been able to put himself in a position to develop significantly over the last 12 months.
Reaching a grade 1 final is a significant step, one more would be fantastic.
Hi Oakland
As Ryan's mother you are obviously privy to information I don't have . The last time I spoke to Martin Weston he informed me , he thought Ryan had not improved in the last 12 months , this was at a training camp at the NTC .
In my eyes this is where the LTA go wrong they look at ranking and NOT development .
Obviously this forum is not the place to have discussions of this nature , but I would appreciate the true facts if you do post anything else , as it looks like you are being miss informed
