Hard to say whether it is down to the USTA specifically but probably as things are definitely looking up for the US with such a deep crop of very promising teenagers on both sides of the junior game. A 14 year old making it through a decent field to a G1 final is particularly exciting for the long term, although a win for Coppoc would add new perspective to Ali's win last week.

Presumably because of geography, the Americans seem to keep their youngsters playing in domestic tournaments more than their European counterparts and then give the best in each age group WCs into relatively high grade junior or senior US events.  Their domestic events must be quite strong as they usually take advantage of these opportunities and their best youngsters pick up a bunch of points quickly and zoom up the relative rankings, thus avoiding flogging around the world at low level events.

Yes, i agree.

And, to be honest, France does it pretty similarly.

Although some play a lot of juniors, and the best do get taken on funded trips abroad etc., it's not top priority.

And - importantly - junior ranking is not really part of the federation support decision.

NB I'm assuming that the McNally lad, who made the semis in the doubles, is the brother of young Caty in the singles final?
