I went for another straights win. maybe close sets, but i think the boy is going to make a big impression on this tournament. If he can pull of a 2 set win over someone like Davydenko, then it will tune him in to some difficult potential matches ahead.

I've gone for Murray in three, based on his form yesterday (or what I can tell of it) and also the fact that Davydenko hasn't yet played a match. I think it will be very close though, and only if Murray comes out from the start and plays like he can.

I too have gone (rather hesitantly) for Andy in 3, as every time I have predicted he will come through a match against a higher-ranked player he has failed (Chela, Robredo). I hope I haven't jinxed him!

Just listened to Andys BBC interview after the match last night....

When asked about this chances v Davydenko I was expecting the usual
"....he is ranked 5 in the world I am not expected to win...blah blah blah..."

But he did not....he said yes Davydenko would be the favourite but that " if I play really well i have got a chance of beating him..."

What a difference a few weeks make....and of course the Roddick and Hewitt scalps do give the confidence a large boooooost !

Hi could I ask a favour of someone? There is an exclusive audio with Andy on the PLO web site, but it won't play for me for some reason. If it isn't too long would someone mind trabscribing it for me to put on the web site? I'd really appreciate it, thanks

Here it is:
"….not really. I think like you said I have a little more belief when or if the match gets tight I know I can win the match, whereas before I had lost a lot of tough matches against the top guys. So, I’m not going to change my attitude going into the match, I’m still going to go and try and play my own game and obviously you know vary the pace, use my slice, try and bring him into the net a little bit so I mean I’ve obviously got my tactics sorted but I’m not going to go into it different to my other matches."

He stuttered a little bit so it was tough trying to figure some parts ( I though he said I AM going to change my attitude at first). Kate, you can punctuate it!

I've gone for Murray in 3. I will be a tough match for him but it is winnable one. Hopefully his convincing first round win will add to his confidence.

With the current weather at the PLO I would not be surprised if Andys match was held over until Sunday !!!!!!

Yup, raining again. But at least for Andy, he knows that when it stops raining there are six matches ahead of him. He can just hang at his hotel for as long as necessary. I guess last night was worse as he was first out when it stopped so had to be ready to go straight away and had to hang around the site. Small mercies.

Curse the rain. Andy was due on at roughly 12.45, and I would probably have stayed up to follow it. If it is going to be an hour or more later than that, I won't make it I'm afraid. I need my beauty sleep.
