Victoria Subev also lost out in the final Q round in the Poland G4.

And qualifier Alex Yeardley also lost 2&2 in Egypt.

In passing, this week also saw the GB Nike National Tour Winter U18 invitational event.

In the boys, the winner was Luke Hammond, our 6ft 6 tall lad from Millfield school who is, in my view, a big talent to watch out for as he grows into himself and plays more top level tennis.

In the girls, it was young Esther Adeshina (a more 'obvious/high profile' big talent) who won, beating girls a lot older than herself.

Add: Julian Lewis made the QF in the doubles in Switzerland
