Two close ones for the boys, one in our favour, one against:

R3 Boys:

Damian RODRIGUEZ (GBR) [5] 3-6 6-2 7-5 Benjamin NIV (BUL)

Megh Bhargav PATEL (IND) [14] 6-1 3-6 6-4 Jeremy GSCHWENDTNER (GBR) [4]

(The girls only had 2 rounds before the QFs).

The girls are into the semis in the doubles too. Jeremy G+ retired so hope he's OK. Damian & Julian won their match.

Fifth seed, JoJo, lost out 5-7 in the third set, against the 3rd seed, which is a 'so near but yet so far' sad outcome. But just another tennis match, at the end of the day, and she's had a very good few weeks.

Damian flipped it round, being 5th seed but this time beating the 3rd seed, again at the wire, in a third-set tie-break.

Young Esther came through nicely too, against the 4th seed:

Boys QF:

Damian RODRIGUEZ (GBR) [5] 6-7(3) 6-2 7-6(1) Antoine GBADOE (TOG) [3]

Girls QF:

Mariam MUJAWIMANA (BDI) [3] 6-3 4-6 7-5 Jonea BACH (GBR) [5]

Esther ADESHINA (GBR) [7] 6-7(5) 6-2 6-3 Adithya KARUNARATNE (SRI) [4]

(The girls lost their doubles semi).

Mixed fortunes in Kenya:

Girls SF:

Draginja VUKOVIC (SRB) [2] def. Esther ADESHINA (GBR) [7] 6-4 6-3

A very good week, though, for Esther (born Oct. 2001), who will, I make it, go up to about JWR 560 on the back of it. (JoJo, also 2001, should break into the top 500 with her QF place).

And good news in the boys:

Boys SF:

Damian RODRIGUEZ (GBR) [5] def. Abhimanyu VANNEMREDDY (IND) [10] 6-4 6-4

Good luck in the final !

Damian is a 1999 but born 13th Jan. With very few counters, these 30 points (minimum) will give him a mega boost, up to about JWR 400 (from well over 600 two weeks ago).
