Boys & Girls: 3rd Hammamet ITF Juniors Tournament, Tunisia, clay - Grade 2 (Week 4)

Unsurprisingly given political developments there are fewer Brits than usual in Tunisia for the G2s

Boys R1 (L32)

Aziz Ouakaa (TUN) v Max Stewart

Girls R1 (L32)

Ilona-Georgiana Ghioroaie (ROU) v Donia Abdel-Aziz

Good start for Max, whose next opponent will either be an ITF debutant or the South African who was the only player to beat Luke Hammond on his successful tour of Southern Africa last summer. However Calvin hasn't played much outside his home region.

Boys R1 (L32)

Max Stewart d. Aziz Ouakaa (TUN) 6-2 6-1

R2

Max Stewart v (WC) Rubin Busch (GER) or (8) Calvin Jordaan (RSA)

Girls R1 (L32)

Ilona-Georgiana Ghioroaie (ROU) d. Donia Abdel-Aziz 6-2 6-0

Impressive scoreline for Max against what looked to be a vulnerable seed. Max only gleaned 3 games off his quarter-final opponent when they met in October.

R2

Max Stewart d. (8) Calvin Jordaan (RSA) 6-0 6-3

QF

(4) Javier Barranco Cosano (ESP) v Max Stewart

Encouragingly Max improved considerably on October's result but couldn't get the win

QF

(4) Javier Barranco Cosano (ESP) d. Max Stewart 7-5 5-7 6-1
