Anton takes the opening set 7-5. The winner plays top seed Thiago Tirante (Argentina) in the final, who beat Jack in the Eddie Herr semis

Anton will be 15 in May.

Born in the UK and his father was a professional basketball player, thus why he was in the US for a bit and did represent them for a while. Has been back in the UK for a while as he won the schools team cross country champs in 2012 and represents Kent, so may well train at Bromley.

According to ZooTennis, born in New York but moved to UK age 8 and in Florida as part of LTA travelling team.

My first knowledge of Anton and what a great way to be introduced. Well done young man and good luck in the final.

Yes, I read that and thought 'curious, isn't it, that Kylie and Tiana both post that the LTA don't fund this tournament and yet Anton is part of the 'LTA travelling team''.....

Now, of course, Anton is playing U14s and the girls were in the U12s so that would be a perfectly logical explanation.

But, given the LTA's love of secrecy and telling one family one thing and another another, they shoot themselves in the foot and one can't help making asusmptions....

(NB Don't really mind where he was born but he certainly looks a well-grown lad for 14.....)

This report suggests he has been in the UK since he was 4 - who knows....

Well, if his father's a basketball player, I'd be very surprised if he turned out small for his age . Well done to him, and all the best for the final. Quite an accomplishment to do so well, and very heartening. Like you, Goldfish, I didn't really recall hearing of him (though since he won Bolton etc, I should have).
