Those are two fabulous wins. Didn't Olivieri win last week's big tournament? And Robillard-Millette is very accomplished. Well done, Mr Storrie and Ms Collins.
Well done both, two young players who have already shown a bit of grit in their attitudes and from professional sporting backgrounds other than tennis, no coincidence and something likely to serve them well in the future.

Ryan lost his doubles (must be pretty tired after a score like that)
But Ali and partner won theirs and are into the QFs:
R2:
Ali COLLINS (GBR) / Victoria EMMA (USA) def. Jade LEWIS (NZL) / Taylor RUSSO (USA) 6-4 6-7(4) [10-7]
that'll definitely be a boost for Ali's doubles points - Ryan has lots of '30's on his singles sheets, so consolidates and needs one more win to improve.
Worth mentioning that both will get a big jump in a few weeks, obviously, as the 1997s drop out. (Should get Ryan nicely inside the top 100, and Alexis Canter too, although he has some points coming off in the first week of Jan - as does Ryan - but without an exact replacement scorer in hand). Ali will also get a nice jump although, as a 2000-born, it's less crucial at this moment.
Ryan continues the general pattern of putting in good performances against highly ranked contemporaries which maybe consistent with having to start by playing men's tennis ie he's used to playing people who hit a heavier ball.
Looks like this one could have gone either way. I agree the general direction is forward it would be nice to see him build on what was a very atypical start, but again that could make his transition easier.
