We are going to miss Andy when he ducks out in 2 or 3 years I think. He has helped out just about every 1 of our top 10 players at the moment on some way. Sadly Jay is just about the only hope we have on the 16-21yrs bracket of getting anywhere close to top 100 level at the current time.

Would love see Andy help out with coaching when is he finished even his own academy as the toffs at the LTA are clueless.

Growth of young players is obviously something he is passionate about, we are very fortunate to have a star player who appears to be curious about every facet of the game from grass roots to Wimbledon, and whose first instinct is to pass it on.

I am as excited about what he might do in the next stage of his career, he has already actively mentored Kyle now an established tour player for 5 years. Although Jay apart there is a bit of lull in those transitioning quickly (I am sure Ryan will not quit trying) I do feel there is a crop of youngsters with the potential to make that step. Already he offers something very different from what the LTA are able, as he is arguably the best British tennis player of all time, not what they offer is necessarily bad.

Jay has been retweeting a disgustingly racist Facebook message that he received a couple of days ago. It is a sad fact of life that such people exist and there is no way to wipe out racism in one go, but I do believe we have to keep fighting it one battle at a time.

If anyone else has seen the tweet from Jay showing the message, I have suggested that he send it to the Public Relations email of Mugla University in Istanbul. The person who posted the Facebook message states in her Instagram profile that she is a student there. Perhaps if we all send an email of complaint they may take some notice.

The email is : basin@mu.edu.tr The students Name on her Instagram profile is : Saglam Duyguu The Instagram address is : www.instagram.com/saglam.duyguu/ and the profile picture leaves me in no doubt that this is one and the same person.

Jay, if you are reading this, I am sure you know that for every racist idiot, there are so many more of us who support ALL the GB tennis players alike. So ignore the idiots, focus on your tennis, because from everything I have seen and read, you are bl**dy good at it and I look forward to the opportunity to be at one of your tournaments and to see you play live.

I know, sadly, that there is still a lot of racism in this world, but for some reason, this really touched a nerve for me and I am so angry. I have already sent my email to the address above.

Also, just to add, the misogyny that the women players have to put up with on their twitter accounts on a regular basis is also truly shocking, and hugely sad.

Gutted For Jay after going 2 sets up so close but what a great experience and smooth transition from junior to men's  tennis gained some funding this week & main draw doubles so future looking very bright particularly with the solid team that he has around him he was my far the most exciting British prospect at only 18 although Ryan Storrie 19 another teenager that has great attitude although I feel he needs physical development there are so many monsters in the modern game size can be an issue

Totally agree. He looks strong and fit and a hard worker. Only 19 next month I think so plenty of time. He's making steady progress in the right direction. If he had qualified you can imagine how big the press would make him out to be. They would go into overkill. So maybe just being main draw doubles is better. I don't know other than he looks a very good prospect for in a few years time.

Absolutely. Nothing wrong with anyone who has rich parents to help them but to see an ordinary working class kid make it would be impressive. Always wonder how much talent might be out there in the back streets of beyond with kids who have nothing and never get a chance to pick up a racquet.

If I've done my calculations correctly (of which I'm not certain) Jay's run to the Wimbledon FQR should put him up to the 330 mark. At just short of his 19th birthday how does this compare with Kyle's rankings trajectory?

Muzza at about 11 months older than Jay was 317 although this is probably equivalent to the 330s in today's game.
