Katie had a tough battle today, being hauled back from 4-1 to 4-4 in the decider before reeling off 4 points from 6-5 0-30* to edge the match. Her rival and doubles partner Sofia Kenin is also in a tight match, having to come from behind, and currently into a third set. A boys match follows that on the streamed court (not before 8pm GMT), then Jay's doubles. Jay's conqueror Benjamin Sigouin has taken out the top seed (JWR 11) Mate Valkusz, thus putting Jay's loss into perspective.
At this point, if not already, seeding becomes irrelevant. Any girl in the semi-final of a Grade A is playing some good stuff in this particular week. It's just now a question of sustaining it through two more matches.
