Deciding set not going well 0-3, and there is now a time out whatever that means

The doubles team lose 4-6 6-4 2-6 cry

Can still qualify but will need a win against Canada, and hard to work out where we can get a second win from in that tie.

We have to beat Colombia first who pushed Canada very hard.

The timeout was for Ali receiving treatment on her left leg and "in obvious discomfort throughout" according to the informative ITF blog, with photos, interviews etc. - www.itftennis.com/news/215308.aspx

As we were the only seeded team to lose we end up in the one clash between seeds tomorrow - playing Canada, but not on a streamed court.

Surely Katie has to play doubles, for us to have any chance here. The other 2 are good young players, but a little outclassed at this level.

It seemed like a strange decision yesterday not to play Katie, and even more so when the doubles team lost. If Ali is injured then there won't be any choice but to play her today but even so beating Canada will be very difficult. Even Katie's match is 6v7 in the world so could go either way.

Jodie is playing the 2v2 singles today, and she has made a good start taking the first set 6-3

Second set tie-break coming up...

Canada take the tie-break 9-7cry

Great effort by Jodie so far though.

Canada win 3-6 7-6 (7) 6-1.

Apparently Jodie has 5 match points during the second set, so it was a heartbreaking defeat, even though it was a great effort to be so close given the rankings difference.

Line up for today in OOP shows Katie and Jodie playing doubles (if that point becomes important I guess).

Great effort from Jodie!

Katie completes the second set comeback and wins 6-3 7-5

Good to see our junior No.1 following in the footsteps of our senior No.1 with that second set comeback from 2-5!
