That would appear to be 20-2 on points on their serve, the second point against a disgraceful lapse when they were serving for the first set and had 3 set points
Very good stuff: two teams in the QFs is a fine situation.
The match to decide Messrs Inglot and Linstedt's opponents is a corker: ERV/Nestor v Bopanna/Mergea. Two terrific teams - could easily be a SF rather than 3rd round were the former team not a new one. Neither will be an easy win in the QFs, at a guess. Less of a sense of the Matkowski/Zimonjic v Klaasen/Ram encounter to find Messrs Murray and Peers' next opponents, as I haven't seen either team play.
In terms of "the race," Messrs Murray and Peers are looking quite good at 5th, especially as Peya and Soares (8th) were knocked out, as were Sock and Pospisil (10th) and a host of teams just outside the top 10. Three of the teams mentioned above are among their closest rivals: M/Z and B/M are 6th and 7th behind them and could both overtake them; ERV/Nestor couldn't but would be coming quite close if they won the title (and given that they're a late pairing, they're a real threat ... they're 13th in the race despite having played a total of 2 tournaments together prior to this one). Klaasen and Ram wouldn't overtake even if they won the title ... though that would (as with Inglot and Linstedt) mean that they were likely to qualify because of the GS title rule. The other team that's a danger is Mahut/Herbert, 9th and still in.
A win for either or both of our teams in the QF would be excellent - two pairs of superb opponents. Indeed, barring the rather surprising top quarter, it's basically cream of the crop left! (For that matter, the top quarter must also be cream-ish, or they wouldn't be there. I just don't know them as well)
