Great to see our top doubles players coming into form at just the right moment for DC. Andy should rest the doubles and focus on winning his 2 singles matches.
Big congrats (so far) to both Dom and Jamie. Wouldn't it be great to see them face off in the final.

SF: (12) Pierre-Hugues Herbert & Nicolas Mahut (FRA/FRA) CR 44 (21+23) vs Dom Inglot & Robert Lindstedt (SWE) CR 71 (39+32)
And now the second (top half of the draw):
SF: Steve Johnson & Sam Querrey CR 250 (168+82) vs (8) Jamie Murray & John Peers (AUS) CR 29 (15+14)
The Yanks have obviously really clicked at this tournament. They are arguably the surprise package, although the same could, I suppose, be said of Dom & Robert ( ), & are going to take a bit of stopping!
What a tremendous start to the Inglot/Linstedt partnership (and should do very nice things for Mr Inglot's ranking. Very useful). A tremendous tournament for the GB men's doubles: can't remember our having representation on two different teams in the semis before. Super stuff.
It's the first time two Brits have made the men's doubles SFs at the same slam since Andrew Castle and Jeremy Bates were on the opposite side of net in a Aus Open SF in 1988. (I'd only checked the obvious suspects, but it turned out Mike Dickson has tweeted the same stat before me, so hopefully we can't both be wrong!)
The last Brit to make the US Open men's doubles final was Roger Taylor, who won the title in 1971 and 1972.

Hmmm. I just checked their birthdays to see if they'd been born at that point, and discovered they're almost exactly the same age. So this hasn't happened since Mr Inglot and Mr Murray were one year olds eagerly awaiting their second birthday. Well done to them for ending the very long drought.
Both on Armstrong: Inglot and Linstedt first up at noon, Murray and Peers to follow after an exhibition match.

Our boys' doubles exploits given star billing by Barry Flatman in today's Times, with Jamie's & John's match against Johnson & Querrey highlighted as one of the "three to watch" today. Inevitably, there is some speculation about whether it will be Andy who plays alongside Jamie in the DC doubles or Dom.
Dom's supposed to be on court right now, but there's a rain delay. Hopefully he'll be on sometime soon however the weather forecast doesn't look too great
