Loved the point near the end where Jamie went round the net post...

Messrs Inglot and Linstedt are first up today on Court 17. If anyone else is wondering about what looks like quite odd scheduling (both women's QFs one after the other from 11:00 AM), it's supposed to rain from about 2:00 pm onwards. So very good that they are getting in quickly!

I assume that the remaining women's singles QFs are on first, because ( I'm pretty sure ) their SFs are tomorrow, so it would have been very unfair to schedule a later women's match, particularly a night match. I think that this is their normal procedure with the second day's women's QFs

The US Open actually has a slight history of probably not taking account of possible weather as much as it should, but the authorities may end up thankful that these are on first. And Dom & Robert thankful to be on first too.

It does ( rain permitting ) allow us an exhibition doubles match to begin the Ashe night session so Ratty's interest will be bucked up

Good point, Indiana. I'd assumed it was rain prevention - had forgotten about the rapid turn-around. Weather looking distinctly dodgy for the remainder of the tournament, actually. Lots of potential for disaster. It's also complex for them because Pennetta is still in both singles and doubles.

I can see the men's final being held again on the traditional US Monday

Can't recall what the weather was like on Sunday last year when they actually had it scheduled for Monday from the outset.

at least they've seen some sense and scheduled mens semis for the Friday - was ridiculous when it was on the Saturday with a Sunday final
