Highlights of Andy's draw are the ( already began to be discussed in the qualifying thread ) R1 meeting with Kyrgios ( I agree far from what would have been wanted by most, no doubt including Andy ) and being in the same half as Roger ( so all the seed 2 vs seed 3 stuff ultimately hasn't really mattered, but it might have ... ). Rounds 2 & 3 don't look too bad at all, the main interest looking to be possible domestic clashes.
R1 : Kyrgios
R2 : Qualifier or Mannarino ( could involve Kyle or Brydan as I write before the FQR )
R3 : From : (30) Bellucci or James (!) vs Qualifier or Qualifier ( again could involve Kyle or Brydan or both )
R4 : Seeds are (15) Anderson and (20) Thiem
QF : Seeds are (5) Wawrinka, (28) Sock, (22) Troicki and (11) Simon
QF if top 8 seeds emerged would be :
(1) Djokovic vs (8) Nadal
(4) Nishikori vs (7) Ferrer
(5) Wawrinka vs (3) Murray
(6) Berdych vs (2) Federer

I think Wawrinka is the worst of the QF draws Andy could've had - much more of a concern to me than him drawing Kyrgios.
Yes indeed. Although Andy leads the H2H 8-6, Stan leads the USO meetings 2-1 - Andy won the first, Stan the next 2. I console myself with the thought that the last meeting in 2013 was just before Andy hobbled off for back surgery, so may not have been a true example.
If Andy has to beat Wawrinka, Federer and Djokovic to lift the title he'll have earnt it that's for sure; with Andy seemingly in his best frame of mind ever right now the time is surely ripe for adding to his 2012 Flushing Meadow title. Go, Andy :)
Well, pre-draw, fully half of the Sports Illustrated columnists favoured Mr Murray to win the title: t.co/UfJyiI965E.
As a favourite rodent often reminds us, such predictions aren't worth the paper (or pixels) they're written on ... but it is heartening to see that even non-Brits are back to regarding him as having potential to add to his Slam collection.
Rotten draw, though. But he's often done well with seemingly rotten draws.
Mannarino may be slightly higher ranked, WR 35 against WR 37 ( so two players not far off seeded in the first two rounds for Andy ), but I don't have anything like the same concerns as I had about Kyrgios, whatever the H2H was. Kyrgios younger and more unpredictable re finding a really high level. Don't let me down, Andy !
Others may point to Wawrinka, but he's well down the line, if indeed Andy does meet Stan. Last night cleared a big banana skin.
Despite having paid for a week's Sky Sports pass, I just couldn't keep awake to watch this match. I haven't yet worked out how to get it onto my tablet, so was reduced to watching livescores when I woke up at about 2am. I have Sky broadband (not by choice, they took over my ISP) and they are blocking all the free livestreams that I have tried, drat them. I do hope they put some of Andy's matches on at a watchable time for me. Anyway, a very nasty first round negotiated, so here's to extending his streak against the French. H2H is 1-0, Indian Wells this year, 6-3 6-3.
