Auray finalist Kylie beat her European Summer Cup teammate to make the under 12 final while Megan's giantkilling run in the under 16s came to an unfortunate end

The under 12 final proved quite a battle. M.J. is originally from Zimbabwe and coached by David Felgate, and appears confident about what she can achieve. Kylie just edged it though, with Emily claiming the under 16 title.

Worth mentioning that our U16 national champion, Emily Appleton, also got 10 A* in her GCSEs.

Bravo, Emily !

(NB I also like Emily in that she is coached by her father, former ATP pro, Michael - it goes with my theory - based on European tennis - that one of the main disadvantages of not having a healthy pyramid in Britain (and the LTA putting no store in having one) is that you lose the knock-on effect - parents to kids, friends to friends etc. etc. etc. )
